“Why don’t you write it as a book?” With the prominence of IP and crossover hits from Game of Thrones to Thirteen Reasons Why, the world of publishing has new and increasing relevance for film and TV. This panel will provide film and TV writers and other industry members an overview of the publishing process, from first page to finished book and beyond. Topics covered will include publishing industry gatekeeping and agenting, adapting scripts into novels, having your novel adapted, and creative skills applicable in screenwriting and novel-writing. The panel will provide instruction on navigating the publishing world and perspectives on how publishing could increase opportunities for writers to have their work produced.
