For nine years, Courtenay Hameister was the host and head writer for Live Wire, a nationally-syndicated live public radio variety show distributed by Public Radio International.

She's interviewed over 500 filmmakers, screenwriters, comics and other creative makers including Bob Odenkirk, Carrie Brownstein, Tig Notaro, Chuck Palahniuk, Gus Van Sant, Todd Haynes and Cheryl Strayed.

She's co-written two plays, over a dozen film shorts and the award-winning web series The Benefits of Gusbandry, which The New York Times called "...a masterpiece of pretension puncturing."

Her first book, Okay Fine Whatever: The Year I Went From Being Afraid of Everything to Only Being Afraid of Most Things is due from Little, Brown in early 2018.
