Emre Ozpirincci is a staff writer on the Netflix Original Series THE PROTECTOR (airing November 2018), for which he wrote 3 episodes.

Emre's writing has garnered accolades in the TV, Film & Theater worlds. His comedy feature script HOW TO WRITE A ROMANTIC COMEDY won Best Screenplay at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival, and his drama feature HOTEL CAIRO was a finalist in the 2012 Screenplay Replay contest. His other drama feature BOTANICALLY HANDICAPPED PEOPLE was a finalist in the 2013 Final Draft Big Break contest and placed in the Top 15% in the 2014 Nicholl Fellowship.

Emre's action-drama TV pilot THE COLLECTION was a second rounder in the 2015 Austin Film Festival, and his TV dramedy pilot APOCALYPSE MAYBE was a semifinalist in Table Read My Screenplay and a second rounder in the 2017 Austin Film Festival.

In the theater world, Emre's short play OF DOGS & SQUIRRELS was performed in TARTE's New York One Act Play Festivals in 2013 and 2017 (and is currently in pre- production for a short film adaptation). His drama THE INTRODUCTION was performed in TARTE's 2012 New York One Act Play Festival. His earlier Turkish plays CRACKS and PARK OF LOST LOVERS have been performed at various theaters in Istanbul.

After finishing high school in his native Turkey, Emre earned an M.A. in Film and Screenwriting from Boston's Emerson College. In addition, Emre studied sketch writing & improvisational comedy with the famed Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, and has translated subtitles (English/Turkish) for numerous TV & Film projects for SDI Media USA.

Emre gained extensive entertainment industry experience in Los Angeles where he worked on various TV & Film productions for Fox and Paramount and as a Development Assistant/Intern for producer Lynda Obst.

Emre's Turkish TV series about a female jinn superhero, IFRIT, is currently being developed by Ay Yapim, an Emmy-winning Turkish production company. He is managed by EBE.
