Peter Mattei is a screenwriter, novelist, director and cable series creator/showrunner. His critically-acclaimed one-hour series OUTSIDERS ran for two seasons on WGN and Hulu and was rated among the top 20 cable series in 2016/17, with up to 4 million viewers per episode. He also created/directed an original documentary series for AMC and has written pilots for HBO, ABC, Fox, CBS and A&E. His microbudget feature LOVE IN THE TIME OF MONEY was developed at the Sundance Directors Lab, produced by Robert Redford, premiered at Sundance and distributed by ThinkFilm and Miramax. His novel THE DEEP WHATSIS was called a “red hot debut” by Publishers Weekly and published in nine countries. Mattei is a graduate of Brown and the Yale School of Drama and lives in Austin, Texas, and Los Angeles.
