Tess Sweet

writer/director, Cleaner Daze; AFF 2017 Jury and Audience Awards, Best Digital Series
Tess Sweet is an award-winning writer, director, and recovering drug addict. She received her MFA in film directing from UCLA and currently lives in Santa Cruz, where she finds meaning directing authentic stories about sh*t that matters and volunteering with At-risk youth in recovery. Her digital series Cleaner Daze premiered at Tribeca and won both the juried and audience awards for best original scripted series at AFF 2017. Deeply dedicated to the power of transforming shame into creative superpower, Tess started Loud and Clean, a non-profit production company devoted to "out loud" creative works which honor personal stories over statistics and promote creativity as a vehicle for recovery. She is currently producing and co-starring in Mom and I, an ongoing Facebook Live show with her mother featuring bad makeup tutorials, the down and outs of hospice with stage 4 cancer, cooking, crafting, cussing, and lots of super-fan participation. Honestly, Tess hates writing bios, lives for Jazzercise, and often fantasizes about the security of a 9-5 job.
